Italian Sausage and Peppers


Ingredients

1 pkge (5 links) Mild Italian Sausages
2 medium green bell peppers
1/2 large red onion
1 can diced tomatoes
2 t garlic powder
1 t onion powder
2 t oregano
2 t parsley
salt and pepper to taste







1. In a large skillet heat 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
2. Once the skillet is nice and hot, add in your sausages, brown them for a few minutes on each side, then remove from the pan and put aside.
3. cut green peppers into long strips and chop onions into slithers, add them to the pan and add a pinch of salt. Saute until softened, about 3 to 4 minutes.
4. Add in diced tomatoes with the juice. Saute for a few minutes, add in seasonings, and then place sausages back into pan, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
6. After 15 minutes remove the cover, and increase the heat to medium high. Reduce down until onions, green peppers and tomatoes have carmalized.
